On-Campus Beverage Politics

Beverage politics also play out on college campuses, as evidenced by Baylor University’s recent deal with PepsiCo.

Highlights:

  • “Perhaps the biggest draw of the deal could be Gatorade. Until last season, Baylor athletics used All Sport, a less popular substitute. Now, the program can boast a relationship with Gatorade to recruits and prospective students.”
  • “The initial reaction to the announced deal has not been particularly positive, with many fans pointing to the historic relationship between Dr Pepper and the city of Waco. However, Baylor took this into account.” 
  • “Dr Pepper Hour with signature Baylor Dr Pepper floats will still take place as usual.”
