Today, New York University’s Dr. Marion Nestle shared five more industry-funded studies with predictable results. For those of you keeping score at home, we’re now up to 52 industry-funded studies with industry-favorable results since March.
The latest round-up includes studies on energy balance by the same researchers mentioned in last month’s New York Times article on the Coca-Cola funded Global Energy Balance Network, PepsiCo, the Quaker Oats Center of Excellence, and Pharmavite (maker of SoyJoy).
As we have mentioned in the past, this is why federal funding of nutrition science is so important. Without it, the door remains wide open for industry-sponsored research.
